Available for eligible implementations from 1 September 2026. BESS4 and BESS5 are scheduled to commence on this date.

Preliminary Eligibility Assumptions

This calculator assumes that:

  • The project is in NSW and the battery is newly installed behind the electricity meter.
  • This is the first BESS4 or BESS5 implementation claimed at the site.
  • The site is an eligible commercial or industrial site, and is not a Residential Building or Data Centre.
  • The battery and inverter meet product, connection and installation requirements.
  • The equipment is internet-connectable and can be controlled by an eligible Demand Response Aggregator.
  • All required electrical, planning, network and NSW PDRS requirements will be met.
